today no PE and no HL...so sad. Henry shouted at us to go up to the hall and get out of class. I looked at the programme timetable nailed on the notice board in our class and found out that from 7.45 am to 8.45 am there was a drama called "Up In The Smoke" if I remember correctly. And that from 8.45 am to 9.45 am was a number of PowerPoint presentations of the Su Zhou Exchange Programme. Then after that was Recess then the P6 Open House Rehearsal. Not that we who are performing get any recess at all. *grumbles *

Anyway, the drama was pretty enjoyable!!! The Su Zhou Exchange Programme presentation was an eye-opener. I always knew that China students were much cleverer than us Singapore students. That's because they are much much more hardworking than us. Found out from the PowerPoint presentations that their school starts at 7.20 am and ends at 5.30 pm.So, that's about 10 hours of school!

After the Su Zhou PowerPoint slides done up by the 4 groups who went to Su Zhou, China; we (Sec 1s and 2s) were dismissed for recess whereas the Sec 3s and 4Ns went back to class to wait for their recess, at 10.15 am. Not that it mattered at all to the band members; we still had to go off at 9.45 am to change into our band uniform…

Went back to class with Juliana, Mun Pheng and Hui Ying to get our stuff before going to the band room on the 3rd floor. Changed in the toilets and set up our instruments when clement called for silence. Did a teeny bit of warming-up when Mr Neo came in… Did Bb concert (Bb major scale) and Eb concert (Eb major scale) before we tuned.

Mdm Mathews requested that the sections who had finished tuning go off into the hall and get seated first as we were running a bit late. We were supposed to be in the hall at 10.40 am.

We played Centuria, starting from bar 20; ending at bar 145. When we went back to the band room, a few of us started changing but when Mr Neo came in, he called us to sit down and stop whatever we are doing. Gave us a lecture on discipline, saying about how lousy we played, how the sec 1s kept talking, how ill-disciplined we were and that it was the first time he conducted in our school that the crowd didn’t scream… x_x

After Mr Neo finished lecturing us, we went off and changed back to our school uniform. Compared to the band uniform, the school uniform was so thin and light. Jeez. The band uniform’s so stuffy… Can’t stand it… After a while, we were dismissed. The whole lot of us went to the hall to watch the celebrations or whatever it’s called; performances? After standing around dumbly for quite a long time, me and Si Ying ran up the stairs to where the Creative Media people were, up the gallery. Juliana followed behind. Soon after, Cerlyn came too. Watched the remaining shows up there… Then Mun Pheng came… And reprimanded Cerlyn for not telling her to come up as well. Hahax. We stood up there when we sang the school song together for Mrs Tan… She’s leaving the school… Mrs Ong has been with us since 19th September 2005, as said by Mrs Tan, and she’s leaving to be the principal of Temasek Secondary School… Why leave? One, a superb principal who really really does care about us; the other, although only our vice-principal for a really short while, she really takes an interest in what we do…

After the whole thing finished, I went with Juliana, Mun Pheng and Hui Ying to the staff room to get our results, next year’s book list and then Juliana and I went to the canteen to eat.
